Author: Heinrich Harrer
A hardback edition from 1961, still in VG condition and within a dustwrapper that is chipped and torn at the edges. 238 pages, plus early colour.
Thubten Jigme Norbu was the eldest son of the Dalai Lama, and in this book Harrer traces his life and times, as well as recounting the strory of a trek from the Himalayas, across Dang Pass, and on to Kumbum - over 1000 miles. To get a taste of the country of Tibet, it's people and landscape, one could argue that this book is better than almost any other on the subject.
